Welcome to The Joy of Soap where we create natural handmade soap from scratch using the finest-quality ingredients resulting in a luxurious and soothing soap that is gentle on your skin. Our all-vegetable recipes use food grade oils, sustainable herbal essential oils, floral essences, and natural botanicals that result in a luxurious and creamy bar of soap with soft, fluffy bubbles that leave your skin clean and smooth. Essential oils, fragrance oils and natural exfoliants are used for both aromatherapy and skin healthy benefits. You will not find any products made from a pre-manufactured melt-and-pour soap base.

The Joy of Soap was created after years spent traveling for work, which can be fun and exciting while also bad for your skin. For years, Melissa had trouble finding soaps that weren’t full of skin-drying chemicals – and ultimately decided the way to get the finest possible hand made soaps was to start making her own, from natural ingredients and with the kind of care and craftsmanship that would set them apart.

From this The Joy of Soap was born. In addition to the dry atmosphere on airplanes, commercially made soaps placed in hotel bathrooms add to skin dehydration. All of our natural soap is hand crafted, hand cut and hand wrapped in small batches, using natural oils and ingredients that are gentle on your skin. Our smaller size soap is perfect for work or pleasure trips so you can nurture your skin while away from home, and also be conscious of the environment by not throwing away the packaging (and soap) on those hotel soaps every day.

You'll also notice we don't use the same old boring names for our soaps -- we thought we (and you) would enjoy some imagination and fun (and we're always open to new suggestions and ideas!). Check back as we introduce seasonal and new scents throughout the year.

In addition to using natural ingredients The Joy of Soap strives to be an environmentally conscious brand by using packaging made from recycled and recyclable materials. Currently our soaps are packaged in 100% recycled paper with a colorful ribbon and a label. We are working with our label provider so that our next label order will be made from recycled materials that meet our and their quality standards.
